Current Activities at Mockernut Hill Botanical Garden
8/1/01
In early 2001, landscape terraces were graded, a scenic sinkhole was cleaned out, and pasture/meadow areas were reopened. A red oak woods restoration area near the garden entrance was cleared and seeded in June. Activities are now focused on infrastructure development. Additional buildings, including a barn/workshop and library are currently under construction. Driveways, fences, and irrigation systems are undergoing improvement and plans are being made for planting palms, fruit trees, daylilies, a cactus/succulent garden, and entry landscaping in 2002.
