Invasive Species Research and Education at Mockernut Hill Botanical Garden
We are consciously and carefully planting a wide variety of exotic nuisance species in the central part of the garden where they can be carefully monitored and controlled. These will be used in educational programs aimed at increasing public understanding as to which exotic and weedy species pose genuine threats to natural landscapes and how they should be managed.
In the future, MHBG hopes to become involved in assessing the potential invasiveness of new plant introductions.
