NATURAL COMMUNITY CLASSIFICATION

Unique staff expertise and specialized databases enable Conway Conservation to readily prepare useful vegetation classifications. Linda Conway Duever gained familiarity with both temperate and tropical systems in developing the terrestrial and palustrine components of the Florida Natural Areas Inventory natural community classification used for mapping State of Florida lands, as well as the theme study classification the National Park Service uses for categorizing lands in peninsular Florida. Conway Conservation maintains annotated versions of FLUCFCS, FNAI, SCS (FL), and other classifications in a database/report system where they can be easily adapted and linked to GIS to create decision rule manuals.
