      Additional Notes for 1996 Conference

    6. Digital Cellular Phone Service--Mitsui, Nynex and Indomesia firms will lay fiber optic networks and build switching stations at Jakarta. Estimated investment more than $1 billion. Completion 1998.
    7. Global -- Project "FLAG" (Fiberoptic Link Around the Globe) is a $1.5 billion venture of AT&T?KDD to install the world's longest fiberoptic cable. The new link will extend 17,000 miles from Cornwall, UK. via the Mediterannean and Indian Ocean to Miura, Japan, connecting 12 nations. It is scheduled for operation in 1997.
