Tan Sri Othman Yeop Abdullah
Executive Chairman
He joined the Civil Service in 1965 as Assistant Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs. During his 28 years of service, he held a number of positions including of Deputy Secretary-General of the Ministry of Education, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Energy, Telecommunications and Posts, and Secretary-General of the Ministry of Primary Industries. He also did a four-year tenure as Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Utara Malaysia.
An Alfred P.Sloan Fellowship counts among his honours and awards, which also includes an Honorary Doctor of Science Degree from Loughborough University of Technology, United Kingdom. He has held positions in the National Science Council, Malaysian Timber Industry Board, Palm Oil Licensing Board, Rubber Research Institute, Securities Commission, Malaysian Business Council and the Institute of Microelectronic Systems (MIMOS) among others. He has also published extensively on management, development, technology and strategy issues and continues to speak on a range of topics internationally.
