McKinley Conway
Multi-faceted McKinley Conway has credential in such diverse fields as engineering, geo-economics and futurism. He holds two degrees, aeronautical, from Georgia Tech, and his scientific background includes seven years on the NASA staff. He is author of some two dozen books and more than 500 research papers, studies and journal features.
Early in his career Conway served at the local level as chairman of such entities as his county planning commissions, county airport board and metropolitan study commission.
Conway was elected to the State Senate where he was co-author of the bill to create the MARTA (Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority) He introduced the resolution creating MACLOG (Metropolitan Atlanta Council of Local Governments) - the beginning of metro area planning. As a member of the Senate Highway Committee he proposed construction of the outer loop highway around Atlanta.
Conway has served as consultant to scores of local, state and national governments agencies on various elements of economic development programs, including airport and business park plans.
He founded the prestigious International Development Research Council. During the 1990s he chaired WDF Global Super Projects Conferences in Honolulu, Singapore, Barcelona, Osaka, San Francisco and Paris.
