What Is The World Development Federation?

The World Development Federation (WDF) is an international federation of individuals and organizations interested or involved in large-scale development projects. WDF's goal is to improve global quality of life through the implementation of "super projects" that enhance the environment, create global linkages and contribute to effective economic development. The organization does not finance, endorse or participate in individual projects.

As defined by WDF, super projects involve a capital investment of at least $1 billion or reflect innovative solutions or technological breakthroughs that have worldwide importance. Super projects include the world's major infrastructure and facility ventures.

The Global Super Projects Conference
WDF annually organizes the Global Super Projects Conference. Previous conferences have been held in Paris (1997), San Francisco (1996), Osaka (1995), Barcelona (1994), Singapore (1993) and Honolulu (1992).

Management
WDF is managed by Conway Data, Inc., a global economic development research and publishing firm headquartered in Atlanta, Ga., USA. Conway Data also publishes Site Selection magazine, the official publication of WDF.
