WDF Expert Panels

From time to time, WDF organizes expert panels to review and report on projects of various types. The following pages consist of notes regarding topics, experts and organizations involved.

Energy and Water. Energy sources, power generation, water supply, flood control, de-salting, undersea cables, global grids, water pipelines

Environment. Population management, harmonizing large-scale construction with the natural environment, conservation and the preservation of diversity, restoration of damaged habitats, large-scale greenways.

Communications. Analog and digital, cabled and wired, satellite and wireless, integrated systems, global links, break-through technologies.

Project Management. Team selection and organization, project feasibility, concept and design, financial planning, scheduling, risk management.

Tourism and Global Events. Planning for Olympics games, world cup, large events, industrial fairs, pilgrimages, destination resort complexes.

Transportation. Air and space, highway, intermodal and multimodal, pipelines, rail, tunnel, bridges, causeways, waterways, canals, ports.

Urban Development. New towns, redevelopment projects, rapid transit systems, loop and two-loop concepts, ultra high-rise, underground construction.
